2 Months Old Tomorrow!

Whew!  It took us a while to get over our busy week of travel and shots.  But, on this side of it, Mason is 8 weeks old and tomorrow he is two months.  Our friend, Leslie, from Shelbyville made Mason this pillow with the stripes from his nursery.  Later on, he can use this for his tooth pillow.  But for now, we've decided it's a great place to have his monthly pictures.  Now, we have something to compare him to each month.

Mason is all dressed up in these pictures because he went to church for the first time today.  He was so happy the entire time and everyone was so glad he was there.  What a wonderful church family we have!

Mason is so alert and is staying awake more during the day which thankfully means he has begun to sleep through the night!  It surprised us the first time it happened, but we welcome the change.  His eyes have begun to darken and his hair is lightening.  In his church picture, it almost looks strawberry blonde!

Here are a few more pictures from the week with a video of Mason talking.  He smiles and coos with us more and more.  He is such a special, sweet boy!

A Busy Week!

Happy Birthday, Daddy!
Mason is 7 weeks old now!  Wow!  And we had a pretty big week.  My mom, Yaya, was in Memphis and Dad, Grandaddy, joined her for the weekend.  So, we took that opportunity for Mason to go meet his great grandmother, Meme.  While I was very nervous about taking Mason on a plane while being so young, he made it a breeze!  It was like he knew Mommy was a little anxious--he ate well and slept on most of the flights.  When he was awake during one flight (the only one!), he was a happy camper.  Mason made the trip so much easier than it could be.  Thank you, sweet boy!

Mason--along with being in a growth spurt--got his first shots on Tuesday.  I'm pretty sure that it was harder on him, but it was hard on me too!  He cried a cry I hadn't heard yet.  But, now I know the pain cry.  He was pretty creepy the rest of the day.  The only plus was that it made him sleep almost 6 hours that night.  Selfishly, I'm glad that ST is the one taking him to the doctor next time.

We also celebrate Shawn Thomas's birthday today.  Happy Birthday, Daddy!  Mason gave him a great frame with a father/son picture and a picture coffee mug.  The pictures can be changed out to grow with Mason.  But, Shawn Thomas said that the best present was Mason's huge smile that greeted him in the bed this morning.  Maybe we will remember that next year!

Six Weeks Old!

Seriously, where has time gone?!?  ST and I often remark how we feel like it has been forever and just yesterday that we met and feel in love.  It's the same with our sweet baby boy, Mason.  I think that Mason has hit a growth spurt this week.  His features are changing.  His hair is on its way out-we look forward to seeing if he's going to be blond like Daddy was!  He's staying awake more and more during the day so that gives me more time to look into those beautiful, alert eyes.  But, best of all, the SMILING!  I teared up the first time he really looked me straight in the eyes and smiled.  What a miracle!  I've tried to catch it on camera, so here are a few smirks from six-week-old Mason.
