Birthday Boy!

Sorry, this is late!  But, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MASON!  This past year has been one adventure after another.  We wouldn't change a thing when it comes to our miracle, Mason.  What a gift!
We had an amazing vacation and the fact that Mason's birthday was a part of that was the icing on the cake...come on, I couldn't resist!  To say that Mason loved his birthday cupcake would be an understatement!  He totally devoured it.  We laughed for a good hour as he ate and posed for us.

The next day, Mason got his first haircut.  He did really well as Daddy trimmed away.  He looks like such a little boy now.  No more baby!

He was pretty done at this point, but had a great book for a distraction.

After a final day on the beach, we headed to Birmingham to continue the celebration.  Mason's family and friends celebrated with him on Sunday.  He was the perfect birthday boy! I fully expected him to have moments on being overwhelmed.  Nope, he loved every minute of it.  What a way to start the summer with our boy!

We had the best time at the beach!  Mason was a pro at playing in the sand and loving the water.

Both sets of grandparents came down to play with us which we certainly appreciated.  

Grandaddy took great family pictures and captured beautiful moments of the week.  We can't wait for our next family vacation.  But, the first one was very special!

We really had no doubt that Mason would love the beach!  I just didn't realize how excited I would be to have him experience it for the first time.  One of many firsts that brought tears of joy to my eyes!  Here's a look at our first day at the beach--complete with video from the very first minute he was in the sand--

The Beginnings of the Birthday!

It's two weeks before Mason's official birthday and we have started celebrating!  Since he won't be going to Ms. Wendy's when it's really his birthday (let's face it, this always be something we run into) we celebrated early.  I made frozen bananas and took the morning off of school to go and celebrate.
It's something I'll never forget!  I met Mason, Ms. Wendy and his friends at a nearby lake to have our treat.  It was at least 90 degrees when we arrived.  We realized mid-treat that Mason was celebrating with his own explosion!  I ran half way around the lake for a new diaper so the celebration ended with a diaper dude with shoes.  Between the treat and the rest, this was one messy boy!  I would have had it no other way.  What a wonderful way to start off our birthday celebrations!
