Mason's First Montreat

We just got back from taking seven of our youth to the Montreat Youth Conference where Mason was the third chaperone.  He loved every minute of it--well, except for the teething in the car rides!  The youth had a wonderful time and helped Mason to make the most of his first Montreat.  We loved seeing some of our old friends and making new ones while introducing them to Mason.

After the ride home--and crying for 45 minutes straight!

Mason's 13 Month's Old!

Could this boy be any more precious?  We've had such a wonderful time this summer: playing, traveling, and laughing!  Mason is so amazing.  He's been bottle-free since the day before the pictures which made me very proud and a bit sad.  Not more infant-baby!  He understands more and more.  We're working on  using sign language so he can be quicker to express himself.  He watches us and we know he'll do the signs in due time.  Mason's still cruising but he's happy and that's fine with me.  To quote one of my favorites ladies at church, "You tell Mason that it is alright.  He'll be walking on those feet for the rest of his life!"

A Busy Start to July!

We've been pretty busy this month!  When we got home from the beach, we started playing the days away.  Then, Shawn Thomas and I decided to paint two rooms of the house--a feat we believe we wouldn't have had the patience for before Mason came along!
Mason is now turned around in his car seat.  We did this pretty quickly after his 12 month appointment.  As you can see above, he was pretty happy about it!  Hooray for more room.
ST and I took the middle schoolers from our church to Massanetta Middle School conference while Yaya and Grandaddy took care of Mason.  We all had a wonderful time.  When we got back, here's what we came back to:
a happy, big boy!  It was like Mason had grown leaps and bounds!  We also came back to a peek-a-boo professional.  He plays peek-a-boo with most anything.  It's awesome.  We loved being with our youth, but we missed Mason.  Good thing he's going to Montreat with us!
Here's the master at work...
